Alumni Spotlight: Hanover Recruiting at George Washington University

HannahRaymond2George Washington University – Hannah Raymond, Business Development Associate

What’s been your most memorable experience with Hanover, to date?

My most memorable experience with Hanover has been a Secret Santa gift exchange between all the K-12 and Higher Education Associates before the Hanover Holiday party. We swapped presents on a Friday afternoon and spent the rest of the day chatting, working, and bouncing ideas off of each other, which made me realize how lucky I was to be surrounded by such open and energetic co-workers (and now friends).

What skills can new Hanoverians expect to learn?

The best thing about Hanover is that everyone is there to help you learn and grow in your professional development. From my very first day of training, my supervisors and fellow Associates have served as mentors to me, which has given me the power to attain new skills and maintain the ones I already have. For example, I have been able to develop a stronger approach to business-style writing, as well as brush up on grammar rules I had long forgotten. Beyond hard skills, new Hanoverians can expect to learn how to utilize verbal communication strategies and creativity to drive conversations with clients. Being new to the professional world can seem daunting, but Hanover has made room for me to grow as a professional, and a person.

Why did you choose Hanover, and why should others work here?

As soon as I got home from my interview at Hanover I knew that if given the offer I would absolutely say yes. Everyone during the interview process was genuinely interested in getting to know me from a personal and professional standpoint and never made me feel intimidated or unwelcome. Also, now that I work here it’s wonderful to know that the people around me are invested in my success, and that we all encourage each other to reach our goals. Others should work here because it’s challenging sometimes, but they will learn new hard and soft skills, and also have a great support group to fall back on for help.

Hanover will be at George Washington University on Thursday, January 25th. See you there!
