In brief, what is your role at Hanover?
As the Executive in Residence with Hanover Research, I facilitate the Executive Team’s meetings and retreats – managing the agenda, designing appropriate preparation and follow up, as well as ensuring productive conversation. Across the last three years, I have been deeply involved in helping the company with special projects to improve operations, product quality, and project delivery through workflow analysis and mapping recommendations. I have created a product improvement plan, developed writing and management training modules, and initiated the company’s first-ever comprehensive, formal review process with criteria.
Why did you decide to work at Hanover?
I came to Hanover because I was drawn to the size and energy of the organization. I really like working in a company that is still small enough to flex and pivot but large enough to have a need for some powerful infrastructure. When I first met with Hanover’s CEO, we quickly realized that he wanted a number of things done that I like to do. Three years later, that is still the case!
In your opinion, what sets Hanover apart from other organizations?
Hanover continues to be a compelling work environment because of the caliber of the staff. We have so many smart people with ideas and energy to drive them to completion. While we are in growth mode – and that creates pressure for everyone – management has a sincere desire to engage staff in the day-to-day experience and the growth plan in the future. In the last year, we have launched several task forces that include staff from all different parts of the company to work on large-scale initiatives such as our digital future.
Why should graduates at your alma mater be interested in working at Hanover?
Ultimately, Hanover offers new employees a chance to build a foundation set of skills that will be powerful for a future career with Hanover or alternative career paths outside of the company. We have so much potential in terms of intellectual horsepower and client needs to fill that you can have a significant impact on shaping the products and culture early on in your tenure. It is this opportunity that makes Hanover a place I recommend you to consider!
What is your favorite part of your job/the company?
