It’s a Monday here at the office, and while Monday’s can be a little glum, when I stepped into the elevator, I found a group of other Associates smiling and laughing ready for the week ahead, including a planned team-wide trip to see a Nationals baseball game. What a great way to start the day!
What I enjoy most about Hanover is the motivated, fun, and intelligent group of people that I get the opportunity to work with, and that these same people challenge me to grow and be better every day.
It’s typical that in a business development role you have weekly and monthly goals. After consistently achieving my goals and being promoted to Senior Development Associate, I was given a new and more challenging territory. At first, I approached it with the same outreach style as my previous territory, but I wasn’t getting the results I needed. It was clear that as the end of the month approached, something needed to change, but what?
Instead of spinning my wheels, I was able to get ideas from other Associates, strategize with my Sales Director, and even got invaluable advice from my Managing Sales Director, particularly surrounding time management and how to break monthly and weekly targets into more meaningful daily goals. I am happy to say that with the support of the team, I surpassed my goal by 150% and am becoming a more adaptable, collaborative and strategic professional overall.
I love being surrounded by people that empower me to grow, and know that the hard and soft skills I develop as an Associate will be an asset for whatever role comes next in my career.
