William & Mary: Emily
In brief, what is your role at Hanover?
I am a Primary Research Associate on the K-12 Education team. I conduct in-depth interviews with K-12 administrators and write reports to help answer our school district partners’ unique research questions.
Why did you decide to work at Hanover?
I chose Hanover because I knew it would give me valuable research experience and an opportunity to grow my knowledge in the field of K-12 education. I wanted a stimulating environment where I could support improving school districts.
In your opinion, what sets Hanover apart from other organizations?
Hanover builds personalized relationships with each of our school district partners. No two school districts are identical; therefore, the reports we write for each partner are tailored to their specific needs.
Why should graduates at your alma mater be interested in working at Hanover?
My position feels like a natural progression from the liberal arts education I received at William and Mary. The ways in which I learned to think while at the College direct my daily approach to conducting my research and writing my reports.
What is your favorite part of your job/the company?
Conducting in-depth interviews with district administrators is always the highlight of my day. Through these conversations, I get a glimpse into their district—whether it is in Virginia or across the country in California. Every day I learn something new about public education around the country.
Hanover will be at William & Mary on February 12th, see you there!
