It’s back to school time for local children!
This time of year makes us nostalgic for new school supplies – the feeling of a new binder still recalls memories of excitement for the impending school year. For children in need, this season is a little more stressful.
To help alleviate the cost of school supplies, Hanover pulled together to provide school supplies for the Backpack Drive run by the National Center for Children and Families – fully-stocked backpacks, calculators, notebooks, glue sticks – as well as communal classroom supplies. We increased the giving by promising a pizza party to the floor that donated most. The incentive of bubbling cheese spurred our revenue folks to up the ante with a late-in-the-game surge that won the party for the floor.
All of the donations were dropped off before the Labor Day weekend to accompany the kids at NCCF back to school. Although the school supply drive is over, you can still support the great cause of the NCCF!
