On Friday, July 12, over 75 employees from our DC offices participated in Hanover Research’s annual company-wide day of service, directly contributing to our community partner KidPower’s Summer Leadership Academy. Hanover’s sales professionals led the event with a brief sales and marketing lesson, teaching business concepts in conjunction with KidPower’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurial skills for their youth program participants. Following Hanover’s comprehensive yet fun description of these sales fundamentals, the group divided into teams to prepare business plans for their upcoming car wash and lemonade stand fundraisers. By immediately applying these skills to relevant programming, the KidPower group will approach their future fundraising efforts with enhanced commercial insight.
After completing the morning skills session, Hanover and KidPower played side by side in an epic field day, including kickball, basketball, tennis, and a number of playground games. Hanover employees also helped administrators at Jefferson Middle School prepare for the upcoming school year by cleaning storage areas and organizing a much needed parent resource room. Grant Elliott, Program Director of KidPower, has worked closely with Hanover throughout our partnership. Following this successful day of community outreach Grant stated, “Thank you from all of the Kid Power staff for your efforts this year and this summer for the Service Day. Hanover’s staff has definitely made a difference this year for our programming at Jefferson.”
This highly successful day of community outreach reinforces Hanover’s ongoing efforts to strengthen communities, both in our industry and in our local community. Throughout the remainder of this year, Hanover employees will continue to build value through our ongoing partnership with KidPower. Previously, the company has supported youth skill building by leading quarterly public speaking fundamentals sessions – uncovering engaging and effective strategies to leverage our internal resources and impact KidPower’s program constituents.
