In brief, what is your role at Hanover?
I am a Director within Hanover’s Market Insight Center. I collaborate with CXOs in marketing, strategy, and business development on a daily basis to uncover key business challenges, presenting strategic research solutions to address these needs. I apply my knowledge of market trends and peer insight from Hanover’s extensive professional services network to articulate how research solutions can empower companies to thrive. I serve as a resource, consultant, and partner at the onset of new research relationships.
Why did you decide to work at Hanover?
I joined Hanover in March of 2013. A fellow CofC alumni and fraternity brother, Alex Colao, reached out to me curious if I would have an interest in joining Hanover, as he thought I would excel within the fast pace environment. After traveling to DC, meeting the team, and understanding the potential for career growth the choice was made for me. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up!
In your opinion, what sets Hanover apart from other organizations?
Hanover is the perfect blend of small company and corporate setting. By no means a tiny organization, we still keep an entrepreneurial feel. There are always team building events, whether it be happy hours or going to Nats/Redskins games. The company also invests in its employees, because they understand that at the rate of growth, there are plenty of leadership positions to be filled. Hanover is a place that rewards hard work, ambition, and a desire to master your trade. I appreciate the fact that when I excel at my role and add value to the company, I am rewarded for this in both financial and non-financial ways (extra time off, meals out, events, spot prizes, etc.).
Why should graduates at your alma mater be interested in working at Hanover?
Not only has Hanover become a CofC stomping ground (with five alumni all working together on the same team), but DC in general is filled with other CofC graduates. The city is great, and has all the perks of being a large cosmopolitan city, while not being overwhelming with constant hustle and bustle. The College builds students to be leaders, innovators, and ambitious. These qualities are the key to doing well at Hanover. It is a perfect fit.
What is your favorite part of your job/the company?
Besides working with some of my best college friends, the company in general is comprised of smart young professionals. The average age on my team is mid-twenties, so there are always new people to meet and socialize with. Beyond that, Hanover provides me with the ability to grow professionally, jump in to leaderships roles at a young age, and be an integral part of a company that is rapidly growing. In short, going to work is fun, and when you love what you do success is nearly guaranteed!
