Employees in Hanover’s Ballston office donated household goods in support of Arlington-based non-profit Doorways for Women and Families during the month of April. Doorways’ three residential programs for women and families experiencing domestic violence and/or homelessness always need household goods and child-care items to help families get back on their feet. This collection drive, sponsored by the workplace empowerment group Hanover Organization of Women, is one example of how Hanover seeks to support local non-profits.
Hanover fueled the collection drive with a bit of healthy competition. Divisions split into teams to compete for a pizza party. The winning team bought a huge amount of individually wrapped items from Costco the night before the collection drive ended. This strategic move left one clear winner: Doorways for Women and Families!
