Hanoverians waited for weeks in anticipation of our third annual Field Day this year! Our original date in May was rained out due to what the Washington Post deemed the ‘worst May on record’ for the DC area. We had weeks of measurable rain and gloomy overcast skies (including thunderstorm warnings the day of the event!).
When the rescheduled date of June 10th finally arrived, we were relieved to find it warm, bright, and sunny. The day was a parade of Hanoverian pups, children playing, BBQ essentials, and teams going head-to-head in field games. The adults enjoyed games of tug-o-war, egg and spoon race, sack race, and three-legged race (the fastest was run by a Content employee and his wife while carrying their two children!). Children enjoyed non-competitive play with kites, bubbles, and playing in a makeshift pool table with soccer-sized pool balls.
The Content team and amalgamated Ops/Account Management team participated in a tie-breaking game of bear pong (a big version of the college favorite played with buckets of water and basketballs) which had the Ops/Account Management team come out on top. Afterwards, everyone won with an extra hour of company-sponsored Happy Hour after so many employees filled out their profiles on the Hub – Hanover’s new intranet. We’re already looking forward to next year!
