On Sunday, May 18, more than 10 Hanover employees volunteered at the Taste of Arlington food festival, a certified green event which benefited the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
Attendees sampled food from over 50 Arlington restaurants and chefs and listened to live local music. The event also included a KidZone with a bounce house and climbing wall, a “Bark Park” for canine guests, and a Beer and Wine Garden. Hanover employees served beer and wine, played with dogs at the “Bark Park,” checked in VIPs, and more. The Taste of Arlington also generously gave Hanover volunteers several “tickets” to sample foods before or after their shifts.
In addition to volunteering, several Hanover employees participated in the Girls on the Run 5k, which took place before the start of the festival and benefited the Girls on the Run program. Girls on the Run is a non-profit running program for girls in grades 3-8. The program inspires girls to be healthy and confident through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games.
The mild weather and delicious food were the perfect May backdrops for Hanover’s continuing commitment to community service in DC and Arlington!
